    ERIKA GUITTARD
    Music Therapist (she/her)

    Erika Guittard, MPsych Soc, MMus, MTA, holds a master’s degree in Social Psychology at the University of Paris 8 in France (2011), a Graduate Certificate in Music Therapy from Concordia University (2012) and a master’s degree in Music Therapy from Concordia University (in the process of obtaining, 2018).

    A few years after obtaining her master’s degree in Social Psychology, Erika Guittard decided to combine her passion for humans and music and resumed her studies in order to become a music therapist. She arrived in Quebec in 2016 and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Music Therapy at Concordia University. She later joined the Master’s degree in Music Therapy, which allowed her to deepen her knowledge and develop a client-centered and humanistic approach in her clinical practice. She obtained her Music Therapist Accreditation (MTA) in 2018.

    Erika Guittard began her career working with young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community center, but also in a school with children facing psychosocial challenges and finally in a long-term care facility with elderly people. During her master’s degree studies, Erika Guittard worked at Charles-LeMoyne General Hospital in their paediatric and adolescent psychiatry units. For more than a year, she has been conducting individual sessions with young children on the autism spectrum at a music school in Laval.

    She is a Certified Music Therapist (MTA) and professional member of the Canadian Association of Music Therapists and is a professional member the Association québécoise de musicothérapie.
