Johanne Roy, BSc (N), M.Sc., M.A. completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Université du Québec à Chichoutimi (1996), a Master’s Degree in Nursing at Université de Montréal (2004) and a Master’s Degree in Drama Therapy at Concordia University in Montreal (2009). Genuinely convinced that she could combine her nursing care with an artistic approach, she organised various group workshops using drama modalities to explore themes such as loss and grieving, substance abuse in teens, and breast cancer. In the last ten years, she has added to her clinical experience by working in a managerial role as a clinical nursing adviser in mental health at Douglas Mental Health University Institute and Pierre-Boucher hospital. In 2013, she started and was in charge of workshops for «Les Impatients» de Montréal on behalf of the mental health department of CSSS Pierre-Boucher. Since leaving the public mental health network in June 2016, other than her work at Expression LaSalle, she supervises mental health practicum at the hospital for students enrolled in Université de Sherbrooke Bachelor’s Degree nursing classes. She is a member of the Ordre des infirmières et informers du Québec and Allied Professional member of l’Association des art-thérapeutes du Québec (ATPQ).
