Fiona Smith, M.A., ATPQ, A.T.R., completed a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts (2002) and a Master’s degree in Art Therapy (2008) at Concordia University in Montreal. Aside from the groups that she leads at Expression LaSalle, she has worked as an art therapist in many different settings over the course of her career. For many years she worked in an early intervention center for children with special needs and in day programs for adults with developmental disabilities and physical handicaps. She has also accepted art therapy contracts in the areas of addictions treatment and of suicide awareness. Fiona Smith has worked more recently with children dealing with emotional issues and with their parents and she is currently working in private practice. Ms. Smith is a professional member of Association des art-thérapeutes du Québec (AATQ) www.aatq.org. She holds the title of Registered Art Therapist (A.T.R.) with the American Art Therapy Credentials Board, Inc. and a psychotherapy permit issued by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec www.ordrepsy.qc.ca.
